hf and si
i just bought a 90 crx hf and i was wondering if the MOTOR will bolt up in my 90 civic dx hb. i just moved 50 miles away form my job and i need better gas milage. can it bolt up to the si trans

Re:hf and si
it should all be interchangeable except for the wiring harness. You would have to modify the DX harne3ss tow rok with the fuel injectors on the DX motor

Re:hf and si
looking for better gas milage....si tranny prob not best way to go

Re:hf and si
Ya I have owned both a 4spd std hb and a crx hf and they got about the same mpg give or take a couple. I say just add a hf tranny to your hb.

Re:hf and si
in my 90 civic dx i already have a zc in there and a si trans. the hf trans has a hole about the size of a softball so its useless.
for the swap i was planing on switching everthing wiring and all. the rex has a bent frame so it will be down for a while and it will give me a reason to build my all motor zc thanks for the help |
Re:hf and si
You are going to need an injector resistor box, and the wiring diagrams to wire a Dual Point injection into the Hf's MPFI Its easy to do, just a few wires to connect and such. Diagrams are easy to find try resource.crx.net
Oh and a fun mod to do is pull the Hf 5th drive gear and put it into your ZC tranny (yes it fits)I am about to do this myself as I tend to make long road trips and the ZC tranny tends to rev a bit high for my taste at freeway speeds |
Re:hf and si
Heres the deal. If you just want to put the engine in you dx hatch, you don't have to do any wiring of any sort if you keep your manifold from your dx. All you do is take out the engine of your hatch, take off the intake, pop it on the hf and throw the hf in your hatch. Everything bolts up. But if you don't want to do that follow what the other guy said about the wiring. ;D
