Default HELP WHOEVER HAS DONE A B SERIES TRANNY

ALrighty i just got my part i needed in my tranny and started putting it together.... But when putting it BACK together.. i need to know how the lil springs are used when putting the case back together?.....i found a ball bearing that was not missing from any bearing cases in the tranny...my dad said that the bearing probably presses into the holes where the shift forks go up into the tranny?....He said the slots for the shift fork shafts have the have the long springs PRESSED into there holes with thte bearing on top so that the forks and ride on the ball?......IM VERY CONFUSING IM SURE.. but any help would be fukin AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!! sorry guys.. I just need it done ASAP... cars been down for MONTHS....

Ball - spring - bolt.

The ball and spring keep the shift forks in place. That's where the notch feel comes from when you shift.

I can say I've never done a tranny, it's not my thing.

But a factoy service manual would probebly be helpful:

who took the tranny apart?

the BALL - SPRING - BOLT is the first thing you take out and the last thing you put in... once you put the two case halfs back together and bolt them down you put the ball, then the spring, and the bolt to hold all the ---- in into the two holes in the non-bellhousing part of the case...

whe you put that case back together you have a be so carefull to make sure everything is in place before you start torquind the bolts down because you will crack everything, I destroy my firt tranny I ever took apart, now I am somewhat well experienced in putting them back together.

1. you will crack the bearing on top that the snap ring fit into if you dont make sure the snap ring cleared out of the way of the bearing (use snap ring pliers)
2. if you dont make sure the shift forks are lined up, you will crack the upper housing
3 you will break the snap ring if its not cleared from the bearing.
