Default Help with timing a z6

I can get the belt on and all the marks lined up, but when I turn the crank 3 teeth to take out the slack in the belt like it says in the haynes manual, the marks aren't lined up anymore. Ive tried lining up the crank pulley off a little bit so when I took out the slack it would line up but that didn't work either. Im running low on ideas. Whats your guys' secret?
thanks

yep using the 7 o clock timing mark. Also, when I use the chip I got from xenocron I get a code 1 and then 2 long blinks (don't know what code that is), but when i use the chip I burnt myself from crome I get a sold cel.

did you get the ecu from xenocron? from the solid cel when you burn a chip, it sounds like either your burner is set up wrong or you ecu isnt chipped right

Yes xenocron chipped my ecu. But how do you guys time your cars? Cause that ---- from the haynes manual does not work.

just use some common sense, the haynes manual has an ok way of doing it, but i got mine right on just by doing it a couple times and setting the crank pully further towards the front of the car so that it would line up properly when tightened

just go out and try it a few times, you'll get it after a few misses
