help please, car no go...

ok so today my wife was driving her car to work
91 civic sedan lx
dual point motor
manual tranny
everything stock
she pulled up to a light and the car died. it hasn't started since 7am when she left the house.
here is what we know

the car cranks like it wants to start, but sounds it would if you removed gas or spark from the engine.
the cranking is strong and it even sounds like it's gonna start sometimes.
i have not checked the compression with a tester, but i did put my hand over the spark plug tubes without the plugs in and all 4 have compression.

spark is there (all 4 plugs firing, even put new plugs in)
fuel is there, pump working and fuel line squirts when taken off.
main relay is good
battery is good and still had charge when car died
starter is cranking car over like normal
timing belt is still on
alternator is good (had checked at vatozone and kragen)
no cel
all fuses are good
dizzy is only 3 months old, but spark is good.

oh, but the alternator does have a mitsubishi emblem on it?????
could this be the problem.
the guy is testing the alternator as a honda not a mitsu, so it's showing up good?
, but wouldn't the car still start with a dead alternator?

do you know if you have enough compression, and enough fuel pressure. air would still come out of the cylider with all four plugs removed. put the plugs in and liten to the oil fill in the valve cover for any huffing. other than that i dont know

i didn't even check the timing belt for that. good call, but it died when she was coming up to stoplight. like as soon as she stopped it died.

and i know it had enough compression to blow my hand off of the valve cover

timing is dead on.
i just looked down the throttle body and there seems to be a puddle of gas in the intake manifold. i had my wife start it while i held the throttle open and i could see a bunch of fuel flying down the intake.

oh i unpluged the map sensor and it didn't start... duh, but there was no cel for missing map sensor

could the ecu be bad, maybe that is why there is no cel when i tried unplugging the map sensor

Dead ecu would be solid, even if on the older OBD0 cars IIRC.

But what do I know about those ------- things. :3
