Default help needed ,no torque?

Well ive got a d15z1 (vei) motor which was running fine but had a slight leak in the headgasket. So i changed the head to a d16z6 & manifold, put a new gasket in and the thing is a pig!! it revs out of gear but underload it takes ages to build up revs?,like real bad turbo lag without a turbo?Timing is spot on .valves have been adjusted too and New plugs.Theres only two things i can think of
#1 Its still running the po7 z1 ecu and is running to lean which is why its so slow?
#2 Because the z1 uses a big dished piston the comp ratio has drop so much that the car has lost alot of torque which is why it struggles to rev under load?comp ratio program doest have the specs of the z1 piston so i cant work it out.

I need to sort this out cause its really puzzling me.

How much different is the z6 and z1 heads? The z6 is a pretty low combustion area on the head. I wouldnt be suprised if the c/r was raised. How certain are we that timing is dead on? Sounds like your off a tooth on cam timing.

Same injectors as before?

its #2...

that setup would love boost, but in you want power N/A you should use another pistons...

ank in d-series.org they have done d15z1 mini-me's and when done correctly they are little monsters

o something else i once used a p07 ecu in a d16z6 and it sucked! you MUST change the ecu.....

remember that the P07 is a Vtec-e and under 3000 rpm it operates only using 12 valves..

I bet the timing marks don't match up on the block and the cam, I mean they look like their in time but since the head is from a different engine the cam timing is actually off. I'd try an adjustable cam gear.

2 reasons..........

1) low 7.5:1 compression

2) cam is 1/2 tooth retarded

D15 with a D16 cam, been preaching this for 7 years now, has anyone listened?
