Help me out!

A friend of mine has a 97 prelude. We took the intake off the other day to work on something and we found oil inside it. I know that is bad,but what does that mean? And could it be the PCV valve.?

well exactly how much oil was in there? im sure a little isnt gona do too much damage :-\
