Help with Mazda/Ford 2.2L eats coolant
Helping someone with their car. By the time I got in on this they already had the head off.
Due to eating coolant. 1/2-1qt in ~20min drive ... will consume the overflow and then take from the radiator and eventually start to get hot.
NO COOLANT IN OIL! OR OIL IN COOLANT....
Head checked out fine by machine shop ....
Guess we're gonna put it back together and hope a new HG does the trick .... kinda skeptical though ... thoughts?

He said it doesn't leak, as in leave a puddle when sitting while running or not. But it exspells alot of moisture from the exhaust, a small puddle worth on start up and then leaves a moist residue on your hand if you hold it to the tail pipe while running.
Hard to know if its just condensation from the cat or not. Can't understand how the water would go anywhere without getting into the oil

cracked sleeve. maybe the head gasket is gone. even if he just replaced it, sometimes you just get bad ones.
