help with lugnuts!!!!!!

i need to get my lug nuts off bad! my tires haven't been rotated in 8k miles, and my front brakes are down to the feeler things and ------- sqeak the whole time i drive, i was so pissed last night i wanted to drive it into a wall, luckily i got home before i did :P here's the scoop, i bought the car with the rims on it, they are on with spline drive lug nuts, and i didn't get the wrench for them, and the place i bought it from doesn't have it :P any suggestions how to get them off? i don't even really care if i scratch the rims up and ----, i just need to get them off :P

here is a pic to get an idea, but they're basically sunk almost comletely in the rim, with barely any room around them, i took it to a place last night, and he told me he couldn't do it...

Re:help with lugnuts!!!!!!

ive done this before. i found a standard, deep well, socket that almost fit and then hammered it on the lug nut. then i put it in a vice and beat the piss out of it to get it out. also, who manufactors the rims? is there a trademark symbol on the lug nuts, call the manfactorers (spelling). look at a few differnt websites that sell rims, look for lug nuts that look similar to yours. just a few ideas, good luck. keep us posted.

Take it to your local tire shop. They have tools made just for this for when people lose there keys for rims like I did twice.

i took it to two tire shops, there isn't enough room between the lug nut and the actual lug nut hole for them to even think about fitting their tool in there :P

sohcrxsi: as far as looking for the lug nuts, i have found about 5 or six different keys for the same style lug nut, i guess they are all just a little different. my only option would be to order all of them that i could find and hope one fit and i could return the rest of them. and for a regular socket, like i said, there is NO room between the lug nut and rim for a reg socket :-\

ghetto: good advice, i think i will have to do this temporarily until i can get them off.

I lost my locks once. I went to the Mag shop and they had a key for it. Most of those locks are semi universal so they can get you a replacement. Just go down there and match it up to the right key

drill a hole down the centre of the stud, and tap a left handed thread into it, screw the bolt in and keep tightening until the nut comes off

Thats the way i had to get mine off :D, after i took it everywhere i knew and no-one could help.

heh, My integra has this problem right now too. Both lugnut tools snapped on me leaving me with no way to get one of the locks off. Guess I have to get another tool.

Its to bad you dont have the ones that have the key fit inside of the lug nut. Thats what I got. Mine are made by ICW if that helps.
