Help before i kill myself!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So i put loctite on the studs and put them in the block, put the head on and lubed up the threads. When i went to put the nuts on they don't thread? Does anyone know what size the nut is supposed to be? The ones i have are M10 x 1.25. B18b1 block / head the ARP set i have is 802-4302. Now also what i'm worried about is that it's been sitting overnight and the loctite is dried and the insturctions say to do the final torque on the head before it dries, Is this going to be a problem? What should i use to loosen the loctite before i take the studs out (if it's ness)

why did you put loctite on them?

^^ Exactly. I think you deserve it for using loctite instead of the arp lube which your suppose to use otherwise there not gonna be torqued correctly.

What the ---- are you talking about, you use lube on the top nut not the threads that go in the block, And with me pushing 20+ PSI the loctite is damn well justified. Next time talk about something you have knewledge in and not just wht you've read on the internet.

Because i'm going to but pushing 20+ PSI and wanted the extra stability.

I got news for ya brother. If the head studs aren't torqued to spec using either moly lube or engine oil (different specs for either) then that loctite ain't going to do ----

I know that, I have the ARP lube, and the torque specs 70lbs with lude 80 with oil. But that doesn't answer my question.

ok so i just got off the phone with ARP and they sent me the wrong nuts.
The nut size is supposed to be 7/16-20

i think you should lock tite the nuts down too just incase you wanna run 25 psi. just to make sure all that boost stays inside. right?

So did you Ask ARP what you should do about the locktight? Or did you not mention that. Because Im guessing They would tell you to use the product they supply you with to get proper torque on there studs. But mabey you know something that ARP doesnt.

The way I look at it, if you use lock tight you might not get the correct torque reading. Which means the ARP studs wont be at there maximun holding potention.

Actually i did ask ARP, They don't supply any lube for the stud on the block side, Just for the top (nut side). The studs dont' get torqued into the block, the nuts get torqued on to the stud. Either way ARP said not to worry about ti if the loctite has already cured, They said just start at 40lbs and then go up in steps of 10lbs until i hit 70. Then they said after 200 miles check the torque and if it measure out it will be all good.

locktite ??? WTF? i guess it will be ok as long as you get everything to spec

lol if a stud backs/pulls out on you then something was fubar...no need to loctite them into the block no matter what boost/power level imho

word, studs arnt going to back out. locktite isnt going to do anything. head lifting doesnt come from your studs backing out.

You guys are a bit harsh. Putting locktite on the threads that go into the block isnt going to affect anything. All of the torque readings will be the same. Yeah its unnecessary especially only for 20psi but its not like its a bad thing.

---- that. Just get a chisel + hammer and stake the nuts to the studs. They won't back off then!
