HELP! b16a1 surging/stuttering problems
Ok, i gotta prob that has been driving me crazy for months now. I have a JDM b16a1 swapped into a 91 integra GS that has ran great until I put on a DC sports JDM 4-1 header, a few months after i installed it the car started to stutter or surge under low load or low speed driving conditions. When it does this and I give it more throttle it jumpes up and accelerates just fine, it only has this problem when im giving it a little throttle. The local shop has been helping me but we are both stumped. We tested/re-welded/ all the O-2 sensors and they are working just fine, the TPS sensor is in good working condition to. Im now thinking it is a ignition prob
Please if anyone has been having the same probs or can give me any info on this DO SO!!!
currently NA

are u running both o2 sensors? if it runs fime up in the higher rpms, but crappy down low try switch the pin locations of the 2 o2 sensors at the ecu.i cant remember witch is witch but one o2 reads cyl 1&3 and the other reads cyl 2&4.if they are backwards the ecu will udjust the wrong injector.
The prob started AFTER I put in a JDM 4-1 header and I kept the O2 placement the same in the ECU. We have put the O2's in both pipes in the header and got no good results. I dont think it is them.
i have the same problem only in the morning after first starting my car,
once i get out of the apt complex and i can get on the road, it works itself out and i dont have the problem anymore.
i have zydne with 1 o2 sensor and no codes so i dont think thats it.
like others mentioned check ignition components.

try this site out he did the 4-1 header and look at his o2 sensor placement..http://www.lyonel.orcon.net.nz/jdm4-1_install.htm

it matters where u put the o2 sensors, put one in tube coming from exhaust port nearest dizzy, and the other o2 sensor in the tube to the right of that one...cylinders 1 and 4 fire and then 2 and 3..one o2 sensor reads 1 & 4 and the other one reads 2 & 3 in the normal 4-2-1 header design...i believe i am correct someone correct me if wrong.thanx

I know this doesn't sound right....but I installed a 4-2-1 header on my D16 and starting having similar problems..Try unplugging IAC sensor and plugging it back in while the car is running....I had this problem and If unplugged the sensor and plugged it back in I could drive without a problem till I turned off the car..
Ended up replacing it.
