head/mani warped?

is that what caused this? you can see in the pic that its pretty black toward the left.

what else would cause this?

i also want to add, that i have not driven this car turbo'd yet, only have let it idle (or try to idle)

did u reuse that gasket?
put a straight edge on the mani and head to see if it is warped.
it's probably just the gasket. looks like one of those felpro composite type ones.

WTF ???

Composite gaskets for exhaust manifolds?? Id never run it.
Get the stock mls one, run 2 if u have to.
And clean that old gasket residue off the head before u put another gasket on.

haha ok i could be wrong, just givin my opinion. when my buddys car had slight detonation, his head was all black with metal flakes
