head gasket recommendations
 

it's headgasket time. i'm lookin around for something MLS, and maybe lower my c/r a little bit cause the 10/1 cr is kinda makin me nervous. i know cometic makes good stuff and that's mainly what i've been lookin at, and there's one by hks that lowers the cr to 8/1 cr :o, but it's like 300 bucks. what are you guys runnin, what do you reccomend, and what should i stay away from???

get the stock d16y8 3layer mls from hondaautomotive parts for 20 something bucks.

I am using two standard 10 dollar gaskets one on top of the other and running 10PSI. Reduced my CR and see no problem so far. I have run about 10000 miles. Even if it blows, I can replace it for a minimal cost.

stock style mls...ran them on my d16 and my b16 at about 13-14 psi on both with no problems ever...plus the cost is a big selling point for me

yeah, i've heared of people running the double gasket thing, but never talked to someone that had been running it.

dont run double hg if they arent metal

then again i dont think anybody runs the composite ---- on honda engines

so double gasket it up huh? any specs on how thick that would be????

i would never double up headgaskets, just tune it good and stock comp is fine
