Head Gasket Leaks (help)

I was wondering if anyone has had any headgasket issues?

My setup>b16, 14b, 450's, 8psi & custom ECU

Also I want to know if there are any tips to the new gasket install, I've heard that replacement of the 10 head bolts is necessary. Is that true?

I am also going to replace the head gasket with another stock one, is that smart?

measure the bolts. people replace them because the tend to stretch. if u do replace them, spend a little extra for arp bolts, they are stronger. as for the HG. has your car overheated before? if yes then get the head checked for straightness. I believe a oem head gasket will work for the minimal amounts of boost u have.

make sure you remove ALL the old head gasket and any residue left by it.

rip the head off. when u take the head off make sure the car is dead cold, u could warp the head.

put some cardboard in the cooling sleeves and scrap the gasket off with a horizontal knife scraper, make sure u dull it up a bit before u go at the engine.

for the head take it in and have the machine shop resurface it dead flat.

ARP studs could be an upgrade if you wanna spend the cash, i reused lots of head bolts none failed.

Re:Head Gasket Leaks (help)

Well I was thinking about raising boost up to 10psi but I'm still undecided.

The car has a little over 100,000 kilometers, so about 61k miles, I don't know if they would have been stressed that much.

Does the head have to be resurfaced? I know it would be minimal but that would technically raise the compression, right?

Also would the valve cover gasket require replacing as well?
