i guess i can say YES...due to the fact that people ether HAVE the heating problem or they DONT. but i'd rather have ductile iron sleeves put in or if not at the worse...studs to reinforce the critically acclaimed floating sleeves.

I've seen one company that makes the blockguard with very large coolant passages which is supposed to work well. Time to do some research.

AZRace and STR have the similiar design. Definetly better than the one on the bottom.

I used the one on the bottom. I'd like to get ahold of the bitch that designed that piece of ----. Nothing but problems.........I'd hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure it was made by AZrace. :-\ That's what they said anyways. >:(

what holds the blockguard in place? is it just a tight fit? do you HAVE to have the bores aligned and honed after installing?

i think its a tight fit but you can also get them welded in.

Dave from dh-racing ran 9's on stock slevved b16 block w a welded in blockguard for a whole season so they work.

welded in, then bored, seems like the only problem would be possible overheating on the street i guess
