Re: H23a to H22a engine swap

You said it was an h22a that came out of a 93, was it running while in the other 93? or is it a jdm imported motor? (jap spec = h22a us spec = h22a1 or a4 If its str8 imported its gonna be a few more things to use from ur old motor...nothing to really worry about tho

it'd be smart to change the timing belt.
You can use ur h23 distributor if the h22 doesn't have it.
Your car should be prewired for vtec (93-96 came prewired) except for the VTEC pressure switch, the wire is run into the engine bay, but ends at a plug near the firewall.
trans will fit, as will the clutch, axles are the same
Use the h22 injectors
U'll need a new ecu
Since it'd be smart to do the timing belt and waterpump, u should swap the h23 manual tensioner to the h22 to prevent premature failure(look it up on HT)
u'll need an h22 header, h23 and h22 don't have the same bolt pattern

What happened to your h23? is it a h23a1 = jdm h23a (2.3 non vtec) or the vtec h23a?

Where are u located?
If u didn't completely destroy the h23 i might be interested in a few things from it
