Hi i was wondering what are the odds of the pistons being damaged when valve float happens? or if its most likely it just needs valves? its a h22a4 with 100 000 the guy put skunk2 cams on and he sayed when it happend he drove it for 2 weeks till he go a new motor and he said it just had low compresion. a valve job is ok but i cant afford new pistons let me know what u think.

EBAY for new or cleaned up 10.6:1 pistons for higher compression. maybe $100 and then if you keep the cams your going to have to do a valvetrain upgrade $1000 new or if you find a deal jump on it. Have it all installed for around $400 and then adjust your lash at .7 intake and .8 exhaust. turn motor over and recheck it caust mine did change.
