h22 into a 93 prelude questions
 

"since the H series motor, is a direct bolt on to my chassis, and when i order my engine it comes with axels, ecu, etc. will all of my other parts such as, powerstearing, battery, all other stuff that will stay on my car be compatible with the h series engine?"

asking this for a friend who hates signing up for stuff on the internet, he's knows alot about cars, just needs a few questions answered, thanks.

For a 92+ CIVIC: I typically see people trash there PS fr this swap. The ECU wont work unless oyu wither have a conversion harness and have everything right in the harness itsself ( i have heard that the H22 is a pain in the ass to get all the sensors correct).

For an accord: I htink hte ECU plugs in correctly and the motor drops in fine. the axels should work too.

he has a non vtec ecu, are you sure the vtec motor will plug right in? (the type s is non vtec)

you will have to wire the VTEC stuff to it and if its OBD 1 you will need a conversion harness to make it all work right. Frogot about OBD stuff:) sorry

i dropped an h22 into my friends 93 prelude SI...it had an H23 in it and we just took out the old motor and put in the H22 and we used the old wiring harness and the H23 ecu...works fine...we are just waiting on his vtec controller so get the vtec up and running.

even with the stock H23 ecu...the H22 motor pulls harder than the old H23....even without vtec.

my friend swapped an H22 into his 92' prelude s. he had to use mounts. well, im like 90% sure he had to use different mounts.
