GSR IN EG WIERD NOISES

ok.. heres the senario

jdm gsr in eg hatch. runnin 94+ teg abs axles and jdm intermediate..

driving down the road, the car doesnt make any noises, but on deceleration at about 30 mph, the car makes a weird grinding/bearing noise and it kinda knocks a bit.. i just changed the driver axle cuz it was fucked from a ripped boot/winter in canada and the sound went away, but now its back.. it does it in gear or out, clutch in or out..

im stumped.. im gonna take everything apart again today just to check all the bearings/shafts again... help me!!

check your tires pressure, check for bump on tires. check lug nut, check axle nut
jack the car up then spin the wheels and look for noises shakes the wheels side by side with the steering wheels locked and look for play

If the car is overly lowered one of the axles might be binding up. Look at the inner joint and see if the CV joint body is discolored from heat. Always a sure way to tell.

PS - Canadians suck.

Mine kinda makes the same noise...almost sounds like a rubber bushing binding up. But, I've replaced every rubber bushing with greased up poly bushings, has brand new brakes, brand new shocks etc. and it still does it. Only thing I can think of that's left is the el cheapo Advance Auto axles. :P Especially since the passenger side one started clicking after 3,000 miles or so :X

ok guys.. car is doing it again..

the car is slammed.. so it may be binding..

the tranny makes a bearing noise that goes away when you disengage the clutch.. im thinkin main isb.. dunno if thats part of it

ok..

when you hit the brakes hard.. it makes the whole knock knock knock thing.. about 2 a second.. real loud.. brakes are warped.. so that shakes the noise haha

when you drive around and shift gears or let off the gas then get right back on.. it makes the noise..

im going to lift it up and see if ti goes away. its on coilovers.. so i can lift it an inch..

it may also be the intermediate shaft.. cuz we havent changed it yet.. if the tranny is off.. should the intermediate shaft have any up and down and side to side play on the tranny side adn be tight on the axle side?? is that normal??

im lost guys.. input is appreciated

im pretty sure the knocking when you hit your breaks is a front control arm bushing. I just did a clutch on my buddies car that made the same noise when you hit the breaks. When i had it up in the air, you could see where the metal arm was hitting the metal socket it goes into.

Travis, I already stated how to identify an axle that is binding. Plus, you state the car is slammed. Maybe the problem is you're an idiot?
