GSR crank fit?
would a GSR cranshaft fit in a b16a or am I dreaming. I remeber some gu ydoing a write up and saying you could use a b17a crank. But I was wondering if a gsr crank would fit?

Re:GSR crank fit?
it will fit in the crank journals but the stroke is too long and you'd put the piston through the head.
b18 a/b/c1/c5, b20 blocks are all taller then a b16 block for this reason. |
Re:GSR crank fit?
so a gsr crank would work in a ls block?

Re:GSR crank fit?
no the gsr and ls have a different stroke thus why people have ls/vtec. LS crank is 89mm. Does anyone know the gsr stroke. Also there are stroker cranks out there with a stroke of 87.2mm. I was thnikng of using a 2mm head gasket and possibly using some different pistons to avoid pistons hitting the head.

Re:GSR crank fit?
sorry forgot to mention the stroker crank is for b16a. And as far as I know there is no block modification required such as decking.

Re:GSR crank fit?
ya but maybe it uses shorter rods. a stroker kit comes w/ crank, rods and pistons.. so..
and yes, the GSR has a shorter stroke then an LS. but not by much. |
Re:GSR crank fit?
B18A/bB B20B/Z..
Rod length: 137mm Stroke: 89mm R/S: 1.54:1 B18C... Rod length: 137.9mm Stroke: 87.2mm R/S: 1.58:1 |
Re:GSR crank fit?
Ouch! those are some kinda shitty R/S ratios...Just my .02
