so, a friend of mine gave me a d16z6 that he bought together with the d16z6 tranny and was taking space in his small garage. He never used the engine because the previous owner said that something was knocking, probably the bearings. I started to disassemble the engine and the some of the bearings were loose and worn out. My question now is, is this the problem? or should i inspect other stuff? Thanks.

then find a used crank. Match bearings to new crank/rodcombo

the crank looks ok.. and finding a used crank here it's not easy. and if i find it it's probably way too expensive.

spun rod bearings are a result of the bearing making sweet dirty nig nog love to the crank resulting in scars like papa roach's song

Mic out the crank, check it for runout and out of round, if you cant a machine shop will tell you if its fubar or kosher
