shoul di just slap a new belt on and see what happens? or whats the best way to check for damage, do i have to pull the head?

myself, I'd try timing everything with a new belt, slap the VC back on and fire it up. If ot runs great, let it go. If not do a leak down test on each cylinder to see if valves smacked.

B series = a ------- PITA to yank the head! Why I love my SOHC.

S = SIMPLE!

S also = SLOW

true

I have seen the carbon get hit up never actual piston damage just a little scratch and the carbon taken off but ya I guess try the t belt but Ill guess atleast 3 bent valves in there

But you could get away with drivin it like that for a short time if you dont rape it and decide you want to drive cross country

just replace the belt and see if theres any problem. if it DID bent any valve (verified by compression test), I would go ahead and slap on a vtec head since everythings off already

i think the ls is a non interference motor because i have seen a couple with broken timing belts come through work and not have any bent valves

it's interference. i've seen a few other engines w/ snapped belts that have survived though

All modern honda motors are interference motors
