Default Give me head... advice ;)

Just wondering if anyone's rebuilt a Honda cylinder head themselves before and how difficult it really is. I'm going to be building a B18 head with all new components, valve seals/guides etc. and am curious to know if I should attempt it or just send it out. I'd like to do it myself so I can learn but don't want to screw it up.

the valves have to be seated at a shop to insure that there is no leaks. the springs are hard to put in to.
if u have the cash have a shop do the work. but buy the parts your self. its cheaper to shop around for parts.

i would and do everything myself except when precision is required

u can change everything on the head urself with tools from napa but the valve seating is the real problem

Hmmm, well I appreciate the advice. I will probably end up assembling the head myself but having a machine shop grind and seat the valves properly.

Ground my own valves and seats since I go to a tech school. Put the whole thing back together using a $20 spring compressor, no big deal.
