Getting an engine from hmotorsonline

So I have developed some sort of knock on my motor, sounds like a rod knock, and am preparing for the worst. Maybe it'll last a few more months, who knows. Anyways I was looking into getting a jdm d15b from hmotorsonline. They will also include the tranny for 150 extra. Is this tranny better than my dx tranny? Is it comparable to a z6 tranny? Or will they include any random d series tranny with the engine, not necessarily the one it was meant to be with?

I just read that the d15b has the same shitty toothpick rods as my d15by... so scratch that.

Where's the best place online to get a Z6 engine/tranny?

jdm d15b rods are more stout than d15b7's.

if it wasnt out in my car id take side by side pics for you. they're a little thinner but still thicker than the b7 junk.

either way, i say go for the z6.

check into partsadventure.com they're a local honda recycler.

My experience from HMotorsOnline was a bad one. When i installed the B16 in my EG. ALot of the Sensors was broken. Tranny had a broken LSD. So i had to rebuild the engine from the ground up.

I have the po8 d15b jdm rods right next to z6 rods there shouldn't be an issue with rods has I have run a 100 shot on them with no failure and an 80 shot for a whole season on a car I helped build. Has far has them I prefer soken in southern california. They charge 300-350 for jdm d15b depending on the salesman but for a 1st time buyer expect 350+ 150 or so for shipping. Oh and only place I have gone to that usually has all sensors still intact even tps.

Can anybody take pics of the d15b and the Z6 rods next to each other? I would really appreciate it. Maybe I will end up getting one from hmotors.

Can anyone answer my question about the tranny?

I can put Im really lazy so expect atleast 3 days oh the trans is the same gearing has an ex/si trans. You may be able to get the lsd option also for a small fee

That's cool, I'm not in a super hurry here, but I am shopping around and want to buy a motor in about 2 weeks. I'll check around some more locally and if I can't find any good Z6 engine/tranny combos I'll just get the d15b engine/tranny from hmotors. It says this is from a JDM 92-95 civic, so it's OBD1. This would be a straight up drop in right?
