fuse

guys I found myself replacing the same fuse for the second time in less than 4months it's the radio fuse. what the hell do I do? I was just gonna put in a higher number fuse but my friend said that I could cause my whole system to go out. when he fuse goes out I still have lights, and everything just the radio, and the top light inside the car don't come on.

Re:fuse

This is a common problem. First, does the lighter work on the same fuse? If it does then make sure there is not some thing metal in the socket like a coin or something. If you have an after market stereo the problem may be in the wiring there. If not then there is a loose wire somewhere in the system that is causing the system to short out. Shorts in an electrical system can sometimes be very difficult to find. You should never put a larger fuse in place of a smalle one, that could seriously damage the circuit. Good luck and if you get stuck just ask us and we will help you out.

Re:fuse

you keep popping the fuse because the power feed is shorting out. The biggest problem I have with mine is the wires tend to get jammed around the cd player cage. take the center console apart and and look at the yellow wire and see if it is chewed up anywhere. After that check the red one. The Yellow is constant 12v and the red is ignition on power. Either one will cause it to short out and even other ones. Tape it up then tape up the whole harness and wrap it so it doen't get cut.
