fuel + timing + compression + spark = a not running engine
Ok, i made a post yesterday about this and i couldn't find it so i figured id just make a new one with the new information i've gathered.
I have fuel going in to the cylinders and i checked injector pulse on cyl #2 and there was one. I have good compression My timing is at about 15* btdc using static timing The car cranks quickly because it is hooked up to a battery pack I have spark all the way at the plug at least on cyl 1 and 3 so let see. fuel, timing, compression, spark = a not running engine it doesn't even catch at all. just cranks. This is all after just replacing a headgasket because i blew my other one. im sitting in auto and i can't get a ride home for at least an hour and a half. This is a 93 240sx ka24de. HELP! *edit* just saw that my other thread got moved and thats why i couldnt find it. Sorry mods |
Re: Need Help ASAP!!! I need my car to run NOW
Checked all fuses and plugs (MAF etc)?

Re: Need Help ASAP!!! I need my car to run NOW
So you didn't check for spark at your other 2 plugs?
|
Re: Need Help ASAP!!! I need my car to run NOW
codes?

Re: Need Help ASAP!!! I need my car to run NOW
Fuses would be a good start... Codes as well. for some reason I didn't check those.
my car does run with the maf unhooked.. i've tried it before. it runs poorly but it does run. I know i should check all plugs for spark. I definitley would if the engine caught at all, but right now i don't any pops or anything. just ------- cranking |
Re: Need Help ASAP!!! I need my car to run NOW
Un hook the MAF and try. My boys suby did that after driving threw a puddle and shorting it out. as soon as we ditched it it fired right up. Of course it was suiside taking it past like 3 or 4 grand but it will get your ass home.

Re: Need Help ASAP!!! I need my car to run NOW
ok, tried it without the maf hooked up
fuses are all good ecu had a crank position sensor cel.. put in a new distributor and no problems were solved. any other ideas? I'm ---- out of ideas! |

*half bump, half comment*
If my lower timing chain was off a link, could that cause this? |

*MOVED* how do you know compression is good? |
Re: fuel + timing + compression + spark = a not running engine
checked compression with a compression checker.
if one of the timing links was off would there be the correct compression? |
Re: fuel + timing + compression + spark = a not running engine
up up
i think the bottom chain might be off a link. would i still have compression? If itwas off a link could i just compensate by moving both cams one link left or right? I really really don't want to pull the front cover. |
Re: fuel + timing + compression + spark = a not running engine
i got the same prob but mine is a 91 teg ls

Re: fuel + timing + compression + spark = a not running engine
Im in the same boat with a fully built H22A 9:1 Ross pistons. I have fuel sitting in my runners and it runs for no more than 30 sec, then dies and I dont have alot of vac at the TB when I put my hand over it. ANYONE KNOW? if piston 1 is at TDC and the markings on skunk2 cams are set facing up and in the center of the cam caps,,,,,,is the correct timing minus the dizzy's fine tuning.
