Fuel Pump Problem
Hey Guys-
I have a 91 Integra LS- My fuel pump crapped out today and my car is out of it for right now =( But I was wondering about upgrading instead of replacing it with an OEM pump. I was thinking about getting the Walbro 225lph HP pump- With out any other modifications, will this affect the fuel delivery of the stock system? Basically will it work with the stock system and will my car run and drive with no problems? If it will cause problems, what other options should I look into? Thanks |
Re:Fuel Pump Problem
You don't need the high pressure pump unless your running something like an FMU than raises the fuel pressure. If your running the stock fuel pressure the regular Walbro 255 should be fine. I am running one right now and it works great.

I also run the standard Walbro 255 and its fine.

Re:Fuel Pump Problem
Well I was looking to buy a non HP pump off of ebay- but they only have the HP- will this affect anything? They also have the 190LPH (non HP)- In the future i plan on going with an FI set up- so thats why im considering the upgrades- Thanks!

Re:Fuel Pump Problem
It wont hurt anything...ior at least hasnt hurt naythign on my stock fuel system in teh past 4 months |
Re:Fuel Pump Problem
a 190 LPH pump is all that is needed. Get the HP since your planning on FI later. But be ready to add a FPR to drop the base pressure down a bit.
If a 190 LPH pump is good enough to get a Stang into the mid 10's, I think it is a little overkill for use. Mind you I'm running a 255 LPH HP, only because the 190 LPH wasn;t available for our cars back when I bought mine. |
Re:Fuel Pump Problem
if you get a HP i think the oem regulator cant keep up and youll be rich.
