Fuel Filter before or after pump?

Hey, one more question before I order all the rest of my fuel stuff. Does it matter if I put the filter before or after the fuel pump and also does its proximity to the fuel pump matter?

Thanks,

Re:Fuel Filter before or after pump?

Conor, most fuel pumps (intank ones) have a screen that goes on the front of the pump, then you have a filter anywhere inline before the fuel rail.

If you are using a inline pump, put it after the pump.

Re:Fuel Filter before or after pump?

I have my inline pump between the filter and the fuel rail. It might not be the best way to do it, but it seems to work fine. I know the inline pumps push fuel better than they suck fuel so the best place would be as close to the tank as possible. I was going to mount mine back there until I found out you have to drop the tank on a 4g Civic to get at the pump. >:(I like it where it is. ;D
