take the starter off if its stuck to the engine

if you can't get the transmission housing off the clutch housing, thats because there is a snap ring holding the transmission housing to the counter shaft. look in the honda manual

there are the 2 or three boltson the side of the case too that need to come off, two have a ball and spring and the other is for reverse i believe!

ok the starter was holding it, but not its stuck in place again. im guessing thats the snap ring holding it? i can turn it to each side but it wont come off.

so to take the transmission off i need to remove the snap ring.

hmmm now im lost, after reading bone's post.

lets clarify, i just want to transmission off. so wtf is holding it now? theres no need to get the clutch housing off for the tranny to come out right? help!
