Flywheel Removal
Hi,
Has anyone got any tips for loosening the flywheel bolts in the middle of the flywheel to remove it? Its a pain in the ass, justs keeps spinning, tryed holding it with a screwdriver but it just seems to tight! Thanks Matt |
Re: Flywheel Removal
Get an impact gun and it will zip them off no problem. Or, they make "flywheel tools" that basically hold the flywheel still for you if your using a wrench or rachet

Re: Flywheel Removal
get someone to hold the crank bolt on the other end of the engine with a ratchet.

Re: Flywheel Removal
yeah, just make sure the crank bolt is tight when you are all done. ;)

Re: Flywheel Removal
sit on the engine and put weight on the flywheel side to the teeth are wedged on the ground
then remove it |
Re: Flywheel Removal
you could always use a block of wood to wedge on the teeth and the ground. *shrug*

Re: Flywheel Removal
or you could just put one of the pressure plate and one of the bolts that hold the motor and tranny together in and use a wrench to hold it still
