Default flywheel question

allright guys... need to know something quick... i'm throwing a z6 into a rex(with an a6) and keeping the si tranny... and so which flywheel do i use are they the same if so what are the diffrences?? the z6 flywheel i have is lighter than the a6... possible shaved before i got it. also the clutch i had on the z6 is in a lot better shape and is a better brand/quality(dakin/exedy) and will be able to hold more and it is newer... so what should i do?? thanks

I have read that you can use the 92-95 clutch/pressure plate/ and flywheel for a good upgrade on the 88-91 motors. Im not an expert, that's just what I read.

I know that the Z6 clutch/flywheel will not fit an 88dx Tranny, I had to deal with this on my swap and use the dc clutch/flywheel to make it work. I have read that 92+ clutch/flywheels can be used on 90-91 civics for sure, not sure on the 89 models. Most guys just use the same clutch/flywheel combo of their transmissions to use with any D series engine.

omg only the 88 had the different amount of splines, the 88-89 use the same SIZE clutch, the 90-95 all use the same clutch/flywheel im 90% sure of this...

Highly unlikly the crack is all the way through, in my time I've never seen a cracked flywheel unless it was modified. Take to a machine shop and get it checked out. Yes you can use that flywheel with the Crx tranny (any year 88-91) but if you use this in a 88 tranny you will need that homo disc that has the odd ball spline count. Pretty sure that 89-95's have the same spline count on the discs. Only thing different is surface area. and if your using a Z6 flywheel it should be fine.

oh btw if you want to use a 88 tranny (why?) and the 212mm flywheel (bigger one) you can use a 88 Prelude Si clutch, 21 splines and 212mm clutch disc...
