it makes sense if your getting it milled...however don't you want space left at the top of the fill and the top of the block? :-\ if you filled it upside-down then you'd be flush with the block

I think if you wanted to fill it upside down you would seal the top of the block with a peice of steel/wood/plastic, flip the block upside down and somehow fill the block using pressure through the water pump inlet to get it everywhere throughout the block.
My guess is it would be more effort then it's worth!!!! |

a little space at the top of the block is not going to hurt anythig, besides thats not were you need the support

it's running great!!! 3000+ daily driven miles in 60-75 degree weather @ 15-17 psi.....looking to upgrade the turbo now! temp gauge hasn't gone above 1/2 way whatsoever w/ T-stat installed.

did you just reuse your stock pistons and rods? about how much HP do you think it is putting down at 15-17 psi?
