Just something that's been runnin through my mind tonight. What's you guy's favorite transmission on a b-series? What's your opinions on the "best" honda tranny out there (with or without aftermarket parts).

I'm not talking about MY car, just people's opinions in general. I, personally, prefer more of a middle of the road set up. Something decent for 1/4 and highway pulls. I don't know ---- about what parts are interchangable, what gear ratio's would be from interchanging parts, gear ratio's on stock tranny's, etc... I'm researching as much as I can right now, but I'm gettin sleepy and about to give up

i think a short geared ys1 with an lsd and a 4.7 final drive would be pretty kick ass. :8

and if your good with the trans you can chirp into second ;) which is a hard feat for being a 4 speed with long-as----- gears. and this is na with a d15b2 ;D

that probably wont happen until i boost. thinkin about using this 5 speed hydro trans with an adapter to make it work from my y7. but i think ill be rocking the 4 speed for a while. so far i havent broken it like i did my 5 speed si trans years back. :1

I have a yard full I left at my friends with all bad 3rd's. back in the day I was scoring si trans for 100 bucks at the importer.

my LS 3rd is hurtin' for some curtain. Plan is GSR guts w/ the LS 5th. Cruising at 2800-3000 on the freeway is nice.
My fav. is deff. ITR's and cable s1/j1's on all motor cars when in comes to banging gears, ya' know, WOT 2-3's w/ the palm of your hand, ahhaha

be careful with my car! he is right though... ITR/B16 tranny with a DOHC VTEC is just a good plan, shifts are always in the right spot..... but if i pull my tranny apart its getting an LS 5th...

so far... my ITR tranny is my fav... my GSR YS1 was pimp, but the GSR was slow and didnt use it for ----, would have been the coolest thing ever in a CRX, except 5th. couldnt have imagined an open DP trip 60+miles with that at 70-80mph :X


HF tranny....damn... mine got worked...250k miles and 7500rpm WOT shifts from 1st to 2nd fucked it up good... anything but a grandma shift above 5k got a NASTY ass grind lol still went in solid though...so i kept doing it till the day the 50dollar Si L3 took its place ;)

I just had my s1 rebuilt and LSD installed. Im going to be happy boy shortly.

im in the process of buying a gsr tranny and some itr gears along with the lsd. pricey but from wat im reading now im happy i am. from wat i hear the itr gears make a stock b20 feel mighty. lol.

never had a chance to try out a type-r tranny but so far from the hydro b-- the b16/LSD is my fav. the gsr is GOOD for street IMO and the LS's long ass gears is flat out GAY!!!! :6

from wat ive read the best d series tranny in the same as teh ls. im not sure some one verify that. if thats so them ima be really really happy with my itr gears

Just picked up an S4C with 60k for $350 including the shift linkage. Coming from an LS trans before, the 5th gear does indeed blow. 4k@70mph= >:(

Anybody who bitches about LS gearing and FD is building a car that is underpowered and/or heavy. 225 whp in a CRX with LS gearing is faster than 95% of the daily driven not stock cars on the road.

I loved my LS trans, I only replaced it because I blew up the diff and got a good deal on my SI tranny.

ls trans is good for power i think, bnlowing through your gsr type are all mota is fun if your lame and 150whp
