FAULTY OIL PUMP

Default FAULTY OIL PUMP

my oil light started to flicker on while my car was ideling in the driveway.i didnt drive it i was just starting it so my battery wont lose charge,i havent drove it all week. you think my oil pump is crappin out?oh and yes it does have oil i checked the dipstick.could this also be the reason my car is starting to overheat?

the oil pump bearing?? it might.there is prolly 50-60,000 kiles on this motor.its a 2000 b16a2.it had 30 something thousand miles when i bought it.I pulled it from a totaled si.any way to check it.does it make a noise or something?

Whats your oil pressure gauge say? Mine is about 20 psi at idle after its all warmed up and the oil is thinned.

if that light even flashes, immediatly drop the oil pan and check out the oil pick up, make sure its not clogged. If its full of ---- in the bottom of the pan, your pretty much done.

I don't have a oil guage to tell me xxxpsi i am getting.so i guess i have to drop the pan and take a look.what could be clogging it? or better yet what would clog it?

pieces of metal could clog it. On a D series I would drive it, but a B16 hurts more.
