Default External TCU (transmission control unit) ???

So i pm'd chris and was inquiring about an ecu for my 99 auto ex... he said he has seen autos run uberdata and crome. he said all i need is the stock BIN and an external TCU (transmission control unit) i never heard of one before... anyone fimillar with it?

IT's agold box that sits behind your pedals, near the CC unit.

I dunno about your era car, but I paid my bills for two months by fixing a stack of TCUs for the 90-93 Accords.

They pretty much monitor engine rpm and load and decide when the best time to switch gears is, then do so by powering one of the gearshift solenoids on the transmission. A lot of wiring and tomfoolery for such a simple electronic gizmo that doesn't work any better than the older style mechanical gearshift Honduh auto trans.

tcu is inside the ecu on that civic
