EXHAUST PROB!!!

hi anyone got any advice for clamping up a custom built exhaust to the underside of a CRX? I have so far managed to avoid use of a welder and used exhaust putty, U clamps and O clamps. I know its only something little but is buggin the pants of me
I was gonna use chain but then that makes the exhaust to ridgid

you can buy bolt on exhaust hangers at almost any auto parts store or you could rent a welder for like 30$ and do it the right way.

i know it sounds simple but i have to clamp the exhaust up quite high so that it'll pass over the axle at the back, the car hasnt been on the road yet but im guessing this is the prob im gonna have thou. I'll grab a load of elastic bands or somink to hoist it into position then strengthen it from there. tis loud as ---- thou, no silencers. as far as i know we dont have any dB laws over here? do u guys have certain dB limitations?
I have also removed the rear silencer that lies horizontal with the back bumper (which weigh's a bit) so now the exhaust tip comes out of the right hand side as opposed to the left, just somink to confuse other rex owners on the road. anyone know any benefits to shortening your exhaust system?

go to onestop or autozone or your local muffler shop and get one of there exhaust hangers that have the rubber bolted to it. the get a clamp that will fit your pipe and slide the metal side in the clamp drill a hole though the rubber and the body where you want it and through a bolt through it. and you will be in bussiness. or you could weld it.

Thats the way to go, plus you get in some welding experience.
For exhuast hangers, I got a 4' piece of 1/4"? square rod from Home Depot. It was easy to cut, bend, and weld them on to match with the stock body hangars.

yes we do! my bike makes 110db's and is well illegal
add silencers, your engine will benefit from the back pressure and your car wont sound like a fucked shitter

and no, shortening your exhaust has no benefits, but a fair few disadvantages..!

(which is why the XR2i made 100bhp and the longer XR3i with exactly the same engine made 105bhp.. longer exhaust, better pulse effect, more efficient cylnder scavanging)

thats interesting, i just ordered a s/s janspeed exhaust from a scrappy needs a bit of welding apparently but for £20 im willing to have a mess around. Does anyone rate the re packable/tunable silencers much?
