engine will not start
so we all know i was a dumbass and blew my last motor. well i swapped in this new(used) motor and it wont start. i am getting fuel to my fuel rail, and i am getting sparks to my spark plugs and my motor is turning but wont start. i dont know what could be the problem. anyone have any ideas? i took off my valve cover and one of my lifters was off and just chillin. some of the lifters are loose. i am going to go to autozone and get one of those feeler gauges and tighten down all the lifters. could that be a problem? thanks in advance for all of your responses. and one more question - is there any possibility that i could be 180degrees off? thanks again
Well the first reasonable thing would be to check the timing and firing order.I dont understand what you mean be lifter is off. You mean out of spec? Depending on cam and crank position sopme will be loose.

Ummm......that's going to be a problem. Define "just chillin".

I didn't think it was possible to swap the distributor 180 degrees? Not on a D series anyways.

I know when I installed a new cap and rotor in my D15, the rotor was designed so you could "accidentally" install it the wrong way. I spent a good ammount of time trying to figure out how I screwed up installing the rotor, because I too thought they only went 1 way. I can take pictures if anyone wants to see
It's worth a simple check though if you suspect your timing might be off.

If thats the case someone took the head apart and didnt put it back together correctly. Its impossible for the to happen on its own. I would go throught that entire head before you run or ruin the motor.
we double looked at where the lifter was loose, and it looks like we have a frozen valve - i dont think that that would cause my engine not to start, but it is a posibility. i am sorry to say, but i am going to have to bring it a honda dealership and get it serviced. thanks for all your help
