Engine that hasnt been started for a year.
What kind of shitty tools do you own? I've spun many different motors with drills. Buy a decent drill 3/4 HP and you should be good to go. I have a 3 speed milwakee hammer drill (obviously hammer mode is off when doing this) and I have got the motor to spin on 2nd speed ~840 rpm. (works well for the oil line prime for the turbo)
But I would drain the oil, and pour new ---- in there. You could get away with cranking it just unpug the dizzy.

Jeez what do you think these jdm motors are they have been sittin for 10+ years dont worry about it and I really dont think the new gas goes bad unless someone can come up with some actaul evidence only thing is you may have collected some water in the tank but I doubt it will do any damage. I let my civic sit for over a year charged the battery and drove it around no probs
