engine gasket
 
i want to know what is a good gasket brand to rebuild yout engine with that you guys use. i wanted to go with OEM but its is very expensive. look for the whole top and bottom gaskets. what do you guys think about top line gaskets. the engine is going to be stock b18a

how then hell is oem expensive.. i just priced every gasket minus a valve cover, water pump and somethin else and it came to less then $100 ???

advanced auto parts is where i priced them at.. came to $84 something with a headgasket

i was talking about honda oem not after market. but i dont know if there a different in quality

they are OEM gaskets, you dont have to goto the dealership to get OEM gaskets

parts stores sell the same ---- for 1/3 of the price, it just doesnt have the honda NAME on it

Pretty much the only oem seals/gaskets you can get for a honda are actual genuine honda parts. I just dont see the point in cheaping out on gaskets unless the are easily changeable (like a valve cover gasket) Ive seen and had aftermarket gaskets (oil pan, valve cover, rear main seals, cam seals) leak and fail, somtimes immediatley. I got a genuine honda water pump, timing belt, oil pan gasket, front and rear main seals, cam seal, misc o rings etc for well under $200 shipped. True, aftermarket would have been cheaper, but i dont like doing jobs twice, especially if its a rear main :-X

that what i was thinking thats why i asked what a good brand to go with that that some of you use. i kow i can go to the parts store and get it but is it any good.
