Default Engine Break in

i got a couple of last minute questions as i got my motor back from the machine shop. Z6 with ls vitara build. should i break it in NA, throw the turbo on it?

Should i rape it for the first 10 miles then cruise to get the rings to seat or should i just be real easy on it for the entire first 1k miles or so?

and if i do break it in NA(which i prolly will) should i use the stock cam or my crower stage 2 turbo cam?

any other suggestions let me know its my first motor to break in....

You will get 10thousasnd opinions regarding break in procedure. IMO rag on it a bit. You want to create a decent amount of load on the engine in order to properly seat rings and such. Get it through a couple heat cycles and you should be good to go.

i'd go ahead and boost it. just take it easy, and take it for a couple hour highway cruise or something.

here is how you do it...

finish your build, with the turbo and everything on...
call tuner, have him send you basemap
start it up let it run for 10-15mins to make sure nothing leaks, everything works, etc...set the timing, all that ----
dont drive it, ---- isnt tuned...
then have the tuner come over and tune the ******. start with off the spring, then gradually start turning up the boost till you get to where your going...

I am a big fan of hard break in's, i.e hit it hard for the first 20 miles or so. I don't mean hiting it off redline but close to it. I done this to a few motors that I build an all of them are running really strong. My last motor was a lsvtec got 230hp out of it with stock parts n/a with Chris tuning it.
