Elusive brake problem...pedal to the floor when turning left?

Ok, this really has me stumped...this is my roomate's 91' Civic DX sedan, no power steering.

Like the subject says, when the wheels are turned to the left, there's no pressure in the system, pedal goes straight to the floor. If the wheels are straight or turned to the right, all is well, no problems. Again, the car is not equipped with power steering.

We've bled the brakes and replaced the MC with no success. There are no leaks, fluid level is full and isn't dropping.

I have absolutely no clue as to why the steering position would have any effect on the brake system, other than possibly kinking a line...but why would we lose pressure if that was the case? He's getting ready to take it into a shop this weekend, just wanted to throw this out there to see if anyone else has had a similar problem. Thanks, -Z

Do you think the firewall might be flexing?
Cusco has that master cylinder brace to prevent this.
Just a thought.

Crazy, maybe you are kinking a line, but yeah, why would it loose pressure? No leaking fluid either? ??? Check the calipers and watch the lines when the wheel turns.

a friend of mine had this same problem..

When he turned left one of the brake lines had a weak spot in it so when he turned it would expand... just change all 4 brake lines after the hard lines (the rubber lines) and youshould be fine.

i think its a line that is kinking when you turn, or a weak spot like that dude said. if you have installed any shocks you could have put the line on the wrong side.

Nah, suspension is completely stock...we've just started work on this thing, only upgrades are the MPFI swap and an Si transmission. As far as the firewall flexing, I seriously doubt it...this happens even when the car is on jackstands, not in motion. The weak brake line is something I hadn't considered, but worth investigating...I'll check it out this weekend and reply with results.

Thanks for all the insight guys. -Z
