Eliminated FITV = 1500rpm idle.

How can I get my idle back down to 800rpms now that I looped the coolant lines that used to lead to the FITV? I left it bolted on and ignored. My car idles at 1500most of the time now, but sometimes goes to 800 like it should. But usually 1500. ghey.

idle screw
play with it, its on the tb where the throttle cable attaches

You sure? I figured I would have to do some kind of bypass in crome or put a plate in place of the fitv or something...
thats easy Ill give it a shot.

no the FITV is all mechanical... you need to block it off... or fill it full of JD weld 8)

There should also be a stopper under the throttle plate arm itself. Turn your idle screw in all the way, then back out like a half turn or so, then adjust the stopper hex screw down to roughly where you want it. Tighten the nut, then adjust the fine idle with the idle screw. Reset the tps after you move the throttle plate too.

so jbwelding the FITV hole shut is fine? will do... I jbwelded about 5 other sensor/vac lines shut already. I just jbweld and approx sized bolt or metal chunk into place. Its hawt.

I have always used a piece of sheetmetal cut to fit and used gasket maker and fitv valve is adios looks alot cleaner too

you have to take it off and make a block off plate with a gasket. thats the best way

Re: Eliminated FITV = 1500rpm idle.

stuffed both holes with jb weld but it kept oozing out... so I took a piece of aluminum foil and slapped on over them, then smoothed some more jb over it...
result: 800rpm idle :6
