Default EK civic coupe; auto to manual question

Ok; I have a friend with an 00 civic EX auto coupe that he wants to convert to five speed. What all am i missing to conver it to 5spd:

-y8 trans
-clutch/flywheel
-5spd axles
-shift linkage
-manual pedal assembly?
-main cylinder
-hydrolic lines
-slave cylinder
-5spd mounts??

Now what do i need to do about the pedal assembly; is it all one big bolt in unit or can i just find a clutch pedal; poke holes in the firewall and bolt on the master cylinder?

and what about the mounts? which one is different from the auto to the manual

ill just list off everything that comes to mind, im feeling nice.

brake and gas assembly can stay, just change the big foot pedal to a little foot pedal, then the clutch is a seperate assembly.

you also need the upper tranny mount and upper tranny mount hanger. you will have to drill the old hanger off of the chassis by drilling the spot welds and hammering it off, its near impossible with the motor and tranny in the car.

air chisel works too but i hammered up my frame pretty bad doing that.

the difference is the auto points up and is back, while the manual sits basically flat and is forward about an inch.

if you want the hole in your floor to be right, go to a junkyard, and drill the metal cup out of the rectangular hole and weld it into your rectangular hole, this makes the rectangle hole a round one that the manual shifter comes thru. also there are two rubber boots that go with that.

wiring - the two big wires (thats the only way i can remember them) on the sliding mechanism from the auto shifter have to be crossed in order to turn the starter, i toggle switched mine, but the correct way is to wire them to the switch on the back of the clutch pedal assembly. then there's reverse light wiring, yeah i never did that.

as far as i know, the axles are the same, least they looked the same, i replaced mine for new ones when i did the swap cause they were shot anyways, and i didnt compare them closely.

you need a manual ECU.

as for the hole in the firewall, its already there, there is a cover plate on the outside bolted to a sensor that says auto interlock on the inside, unbolt it, toss the sensor, and toss the cover. when you put in the clutch assembly, the assembly bolts to the studs on the master cylinder as it comes thru the firewall. also, there is a mount point on the pedal assembly up on the dash, straight up as you lay on your back on the floor, make sure you put a bolt there, or your clutch wont work for ----.

you might have to drill a hole to mount the shifter. also on the linkage i used a bolt thru the tranny but use the bitch pin or it makes for sloppy shifter.

there is a second hole in the floor, try a piece of thin metal and jb weld to seal that up. also get a shifter boot and bracket.

lower tranny mount was slightly different too, get one of those.

this was all done on a 95 civic, EK generation may vary.

PS - Wrong forum.

you won't need 5sp axles so save your money.
and as for the pedals all you will need is the clutch pedal and swap the brake pedal since it's smaller on the manuals. BUT DO NOT FORGET TO PUT THE 12mm BOLT IN THE TOP OF THE CLUTCH BRACKET!!! i thought my clutch was fucked up after i did my swap so i changed out a brand new clutch for an ACT one and had the same results, just found out the problem today.....been over a year and a half .

oh and don't forget the front tranny mounts are thicker on the manual so your will need to get bolts that are about an inche longer, and a manual starter and one of the bolts on that need to be about an inche longer also.
i'll post more if i can remember any or just ask if you have any questions.

i got all my parts like the mount and pedals from www.findusedparts.com it's a wrecking yard in wa state you will have to email them but jason is really cool and will help you find what you need. and i didn't have to drill out any mounts because mine is a 99 and the mounts bolt in and aren't welded like the previous gen.
