EF(ED) B series swap mounts question.

Here is the deal.

I swapped the B17 into my CRX about 1.5 years ago. I used the Innovative mounts. I really like these mounts with the exception of one thing. It seems that the engine position is a little on the high side so the valve cover rubs on the hood insulation. I don't want to remove the insulation for fear that it will allow the stiffening ribs of the hood to rub on the valve cover.

The question is, Does this happen with the Hasport mounts, and does anyone else have this issue?

I am tired of having to push down on the hood to get it unlatched. I am also seriously thinking about swapping the 17 to my EF hatch, so this would be the opportune tine to switch mounts if it would solve the problem. I guess I could just shim my Innovative mounts so that the engine sits a little lower, but I would rather not have to resort to that.

I posted this on hater-tech as well, but I figure I will actually get an answer here.

I know many will say shim the mounts, but I would like to have one non-ghetto car.

I have the CRX for the turbo beater slut. Maybe I can swap the A6 into it and finally have the Turbo D I have always wanted. Lol.

yes it has clearance issues with the hasport mounts also.i used shims under the hood hinges and adjusted the latch.with the stiffness of the hasport mounts i didnt notice any rubbing between the motor and hood between shifts.

I don't notice anything when shifting, but I notice that my once mint valve cover is now less than mint in that corner.

No. I'll just shim the mounts when I do the transplant. I don't really have the money to buy new mounts, so I'll stick with the ones I have.

super common with B swaps in 88-91's

Just look at the difference in the SiR hoods. more room for valvecover clearance.

Yeah, I kind of figured as much.
