ecu diferences??

what are the diferences between the original 88 pm6 si ecu and the 88 pg7 integra ecu

Re: ecu diferences??

Timing and fuel maps, and rev limiter. Other than that, they both use the same ecu harness plugs, and both are pretty much worthless as far as chipping goes, unless you feel like learning electronics theory.

Re: ecu diferences??

pm7 is faster

ok thank you

Re: ecu diferences??

i ran q/m with pm7 and pm6 and the times where faster by a bit with the pm7 ecu

Re: ecu diferences??

he said PG7, PM7 would run fine on an A6 whereas a PG7 wouldnt work worth ---- as its made for a 1.8L and it would run super rich.

Re: ecu diferences??

88 Teg = 1.6L :S

PM7 apparently has a 7800 fuelcut, DOHC ZC, but I've never seen/experienced that in person, and stock clusters suck ass for accuracy so take it for what it's worth.

Re: ecu diferences??

pm7 is 7200

pg7 is 7600

Re: ecu diferences??

opps, i tried a pg7 aswell in my crx and the fuel pump wouldnt turn on

Guy-Fast 04-13-2006 10:01 PM

Re: ecu diferences??

most likely a pre obdo 86-87 pg7

Re: ecu diferences??

im not sure, i nigga riged ther thing so the pump would run the dohc zc and it ran great untill the wireing harness under the dash cought on fire one day

Re: ecu diferences??

Umm, someone might wanna check out which ecu is which...i used to run a pg7 from an 88 integra in my old crx. PG7 is usdm integra, 88-91. PM7 is either the jdm or edm ecu for the dual cam zc from the same years. Either one will work in place of a pm6 and should plug into the existing ecu harness.

Re: ecu diferences??

pg7 is acatually 86-89 the 1st gen integra d16a1 motor

88-89 will work in an ef

86-87 will not due to the dist difference trust me been there done that like 9 years ago

Slo_crx1 04-15-2006 08:10 PM

Re: ecu diferences??

So wait...they had the pg7 back in the older tegs too? :S I knew they came in the 88-89 years, but i would've thought it would be a different ecu code for 86-87 due to the dizzy setup.

Guy-Fast 04-17-2006 04:37 PM

Re: ecu diferences??

nope pre obd0 pg7 86-87

just like obdo/1 pr4

also obdo/1 pr3

then you get into obd2 there is even an obd2 p28 from the 96-97 sohc vtec del sol

Re: ecu diferences??

I have a pg7 in my hatch si right now and it runs fine, a little rich and a 7600 cut-off . :6

Re: ecu diferences??

the why does mines cut off at 7200 but sometimes when i down shift and am in high rpms i goes down to 7600 almost 8k?

Because it's your tranny that's making the motor spin to that rpm when you downshift. If you hit the throttle when you do that, it's not gonna pull back up. And for your motor's sake, don't downshift into that high of an rpm ;)
