I've got a boosted a6 with an si tranny. Approx. what time difference would I expect in the 1/4 mile if I switch to a dx tranny? Does anyone have any valid experience where you ran with a dx trans and swapped in an si trans with the same engine setup or vise versa. I'm guessing maybe 2 tenths faster with the si.

I'm about to swap an EX for my CX tranny. Maybe then I'll be able to drive uphill, or do a burnout in the rain? I'm pretty excited. I'm so embarassed to drive something so slow. Strange thing is I smoked an Eclipse the other day on the highway(female driver and I think it was an auto because she did a neutral drop at the light after she reved on me). I was in 3rd gear so long I thought she was gonna blow.

i have ran a hf,dx,and si tranny in 88-91 civics. of coarse we all know how the hf was. :P ....

to me it felt like the major diff. in the si and the dx tranny was 5th gear. but the only diff. in the si and the dx is the final drive.

 

I finally switched from my 4 speed STD trans to an SI/ZC trans. I'll find out how good its going to be once I put the rest of my car together

 

this has been covered but si is faster. no doubt in my mind and its more fun to drive.

 

SI by far is a better tranny for racing, I hate dx trannys.

 

dx trans ultra long gears I was sold one guy told me it was a si trans I was not happy 90 mph in 3rd gear at 6500 sucks

90 in third? thats good for racing but for regular driving ddeeeammm! thats why u goa 4th and 5th nuka

 

It was horrible at the track especially a all motor d with no torque wasnt feelin those gears at all
