DPFI conversion problem
dang it.. after the MPFI swap, my tach was acting up a whole bunch.. jumping up and down randomly whenever I reached 3200 on the freeway.. it would hop to 4300 and come back down.. then up and then down. Anyway, we decided that maybe I needed a new ignitor, perhaps just a different one, so we put in my old DX one, and that was last week.
No hops, no jumps.. freeway was smooth.. but now that its ok while moving, it's acting up when idle Whenever I get to a full stop, the idle stays at 1300 for 2 seconds, then goes down to 800 and then 600 as if it was about to die (but has actually never stalled).. wth!! Ive re-set the ecu and checked all the wires, nothing looks loose. Any great ideas? |
Re:DPFI conversion problem
that seems almost typical of the dashpot, but not for two seconds. if you even have a dashpot valve...
what ecu? have you checked your idle screw? does your iacv function as it should? |
Re:DPFI conversion problem
make sure you have set your base timing to 16 degress, and bump up the idle air screw if necceasary. It is possible your idle air control valve has ---- in it, causing it to react slow.

Re:DPFI conversion problem
Did you switch the wires on your TPS unit?
