dohc zc or usdm spec a6

well my moter went yesterday in the rex so i'm huting for a motor to go in right now i got the stock 8valve in i'm lookin for somthin thas gonna bolt right and run off my obd0 set up and its down to the dohc zc for 650 or hunting around and finding an a6 so what i'm really asking is the zc worth the extra money power/potensial wise or will there even be a noticable difference between the 2

imo there is a big difference but if your gonna boost they will end up in the same range all motor route out of the box the dohc zc will work the a6

agreed. It depends on what you are looking for. If it was me I would save $500 and get an a6 and boost it. But if you just want to stay all motor, drop in a motor, and not do anything else then get the zc cause it will be more fun with the extra 22 hp.

The a6 is a great engine, and so is the ZC.. I think it would really depend on what you can get a a6 for. if its more than 200 dollars cheaper.. ----, go for the a6.

yup...like Jeff said..
ZC is overated IMO...I have three ZC's in my shed and one in my car...on of them is blown thought..rod thru the block(low oil leak) and one has a spun bearing(low oil pressure) the other one is fine.
There rod's are the same as the A6 rod's. They will take as much. the old brown top ZC's have thicker rod's though from the front and the side it's thicker. I just rebuild a D16A9(euro ZC) with ZC1(browntop rod's and pistons) lower comp domed pistons..comp is now at about 9.1:1 and I used a D16A6 crank cause it's orginial crank was damaged by a spun bearing...

I can sell one to you, but it's heavy and shipping will probably kill your wallet

go the a6 route for the price and availabilty of parts. later if that 108 hp isnt enough, then swap on a vtec head or boost it.

On an estimate, how much potential power are we looking at with an A6 boosted?
