does anyone have a rough idea about how much it should cost for an assmbely?
i got some eagle rods, vitara pistons and arp head studs. I got a short block that's crank looks pretty good, might need a polish. I'm chickening out of actually putting the setup together myself. How much have yall paid to have a short block put together. Also I need new bearings for the motor, but I'm not sure of a place to buy them for a good price.
Here is what I have eagle rods vitara pistons w/rings arp head studs (I can put those in of course) short block Here is what I know I need water pump maybe oil pump? looks good main seal? looks good on the main block but I should I just change that? head inspected looks good, but i'm not sure. something i forgot? |
Re: does anyone have a rough idea about how much it should cost for an assmbely?
you need
-front crank seal -rear crank seal -rod bearings -main bearings -water pump -timing belt -head gasket -oil pan gasket -prob. a valve cover gasket set and machine shops around here charge like $200 to assemble a short block, but they have to notch the block for those rods too, so they may add like $75-$125 for the labor on that im not really sure, never a bad idea to have a reputable machine shop assemble the motor for you, they know what they're doing, also they can always help you find any of the parts you need to get it together... |
