Do you trust these hubs?
So the front right wheel bearing on my car is on it's way out, I don't have a bearing press and the dealer wants ~$270 (which is about the going rate), I know I could do it myself with a hammer and chisel but even then I don't feel like buying the good grease and ----.
So I figured that I may as well do a few things at once: -Swap the Spindle/Steering knuckle for the DC Integra one -Swap the trailing arms for the DC Integra ones -Get new hubs for the front -Legend calipers, yadda yadda I was just wondering if you guys would trust these: http://www2.partstrain.com/store/ind...ub&No=0&Npp=15 I googled "Timken problems" and didn't find anything, but still I don't trust non-OE parts that much. Another thing, the Integra hubs have a different number of splines in the hub right? I'm pretty sure they do. |
Re: Do you trust these hubs?
whats wrong with buying the 60 dollar bearing and finding a local shop to press the old one out and back in? im sure if you pull everything off a local p[lace would do all the pressing pretty cheap

Re: Do you trust these hubs?
any machine shop will press them out. Any honda with over 125k should have them replaced.
This is a major issue that people seem to ignore ven though honda says to replace them at 100k |
Re: Do you trust these hubs?
Machine shop should charge $10 max per side to remove/replace the bushing if you bring the hub.

Re: Do you trust these hubs?
I think I paid 50 but then again I live on the west coast aka much pricey living so Im sure in the middle of the country it will be cheap

Two of the wheel studs are stripped as well, so $90 for both brand new hubs, vs $80 for the press and new studs. Machine shops in Orlando are non-existant, they're all "performance shops". :-\ |
Re: Do you trust these hubs?
Timken is a very well known bearing manufacturer in a variety of industrial markets. I would trust them.
