Mentioned a slight knock at 3500 in a N/A 16i-16 before.

Tappets all ok, well serviced.....never seen oil lite stay on...............

Pulled shells out of number 2 rod big end just to investigate.see below

Could this be the culprit or would i be looking for something worse guys

looks like some material got stripped away = low oil or clearences too tight.

 

top half looks like somethings up.

 

it dont look to bad to me, theres gonna be wear on them, its hard to tell from a picture though, if i could feel them i would be able to tell you more.....

 

Hi Guys,

Replaced them anyway for all it cost.........gonna run it in nice and easy.

There cant be too mny other things that would be causing a knocking surely. Wrist pins or crank bearings maybe?

Any other ideas as to what causes a knocking sound from the engine?

Havent started her yet.............waiting for other parts to come.
